History
- Born a Vistani. (See Heartsong Origins)
- Irena is the adopted daughter of Kolyan Indirovich, Burgomeister of the village of Barovia. Her adopted brother is Ismark.
- After the Barovian Revolution, her and the Heartsong Coven worked together to uncover the secrets of Barovia’s Amber temple. There, she found her lost biological brother, Izek Strazni [Something she may bond with Sidney over.], driven mad by a dark pact. He remained in Barovia as a wanderer afterwards.
- Strahd revived one last time before Vampir was captured and killed. As a result, Kolyan, Ismark, and Izek were all killed when Strahd used The Curse of Strahd to consume the entirety of Barovia, creating the Heart of Darkness that now sits atop Castle Ravenloft.
- Since leaving Barovia, and acquiring the contents of the Amber Temple, Irena is one of the world’s premiere arcane researchers with a specialty in ancient and eclectic magics.
- Using Distill Vitalis, Irena created and possesses The Ravenheart.
- Encyclopédie, held by Strahd in Ravenloft, is one of the singularly most powerful spell books of the era. However, much of the spells are either banned, too eclectic to use with any ease, or require a price so terrible that all but the most evil would avoid using it.
- Detained in Sun Soul Monastery where Obari is experimenting using The Ravenstar as a fuel source and attempting to coerce Irena into helping her using his memory modification abilities. Fortunately, she is able to easily resist Obari’s magic.
- Previously a Starlich, a being fated to return again and again but broke that fate when she killed Vampir.
- After the Three Incursions Event, she negotiated with local The Temple of the Raven Queen, agreed to surrender the The Cauldron of Rebirth II (Heartsong Wiki Ref), which Irena was using as a means of immortality. Now she uses the Ravenheart instead.
